Challenge
Design an innovative Interactive instrument with the use of computer technology

How it works

Reverie is a musical instrument that leverages RFID chip technology to encapsulate musical notes. As its rotatable disk aligns a marked position with an embedded sensor, the corresponding major chord is played.

My Solution

Designed with the hues of daydreaming in mind, the act of turning the disk reveals a mesmerizing interplay of patterns. This visual harmony, in concert with the instrument's melodies, facilitates a seamless transition into a meditative state for its users.

Exploration of relationship between time and space.
Its two-layered structure creates interlocking visual effects as well as unique sound textures when rotated. Reverie is an artistic expression of the relationship between time and space.

Physical Making Process

White tags are the rfids that have music signals embedded in it. When the sensor move on top of each rfid, the sensor will capture the information and send to computer for sound output.
